Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.Help Now >

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - "Uncles and aunts come and fight in Syria for jihad wherever you are," reads a note placed next to the sleeping child. The note is believed to be challenging the locals to follow Muslim extremists and join ISIS.
Indonesia is a largely Muslim country and a massive target for ISIS recruitment. According to Fairfax Media, at least 300, and as many as 700, Indonesians have joined ISIS' fight.
A popular mosque in the country preaches ISIS ideologies, with a pro-ISIS banner and IS supporters as religious teachers. However, the Jakarta mosque administrator, Farihin denies supporting ISIS.
"Anyone can come here as long as their rituals are in accordance with sharia," explained Farihin. "The activities are just a response to what is happening in the Middle East."
Although the Indonesian Government has continuously tried to shut ISIS out since the tragic 2002 bombings in Bali, 80 percent of the nation is active and vulnerable on social media - "ISIS' main form of recruitment." With many of Indonesia's men under 30 living in paralyzing poverty, ISIS becomes more tempting.
If the Indonesian Government does not make more of an effort to rid the country of all of ISIS' attempts, this could become ISIS' next conquer and we are more likely to see more young Indonesians in ISIS attire full of terrorist support.
