Dancing lights in Japanese sky spark concern over alien life

Some believe the lights belonged to aliens, while others are unconvinced.

Ten bright lights spotted above the sky in Osaka City, Japan, were recorded and posted online. Within the two-minute clip, the lights appeared to be dancing, puzzling those who viewed the video as to whether alien life is visiting us or the recording is merely a hoax. "Alien sightings" have been reported quite a number of times; some were claimed spotted in London just last June.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - The spotted lights seem to be moving around the sky above the city during the daytime, from one side to another. The clip, with descriptions like "quick moving" and "dance around" was shown by some Japanese TV shows and has garnered over 180,000 views. People became fascinated with the lights, as they have appeared moving in a swaying swarm. However, many speculate that the video is just a hoax.

One skeptic asked why videos claiming to document the extraterrestrial in our atmosphere are always with a "90's camera," rendering low quality videos.

"The acronym 'UFO' means 'Unidentified Flying Object,' and that's exactly what it means. It is not a synonym for 'alien spaceship.' All it means is that one couldn't identify precisely what it was. You can speculate all you want about it, but there are thousands of things that any UFO is more likely to be than an artifact made by intelligent beings from outside our planet," said another comment posted on the clip.

Mysterious white spherical lights in daytime Japan are similar to the sightings in Hyde Park in London, last June, but some believe it's not easy to actually compare the two, as London's only last a few seconds where the ten moving lights in Osaka last for two minutes.

They may be floating balloons, according to some that claim the movement is too slow to be considered mysterious like aliens.
