LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Hatred toward female babies and the huge cultural preference in India often ends in abortion of female fetuses. Female children are discriminated against and denied access to education.
"India's sex ratio of 943 females for 1000 males has been an ongoing concern for Indian governments," stated Daily Mail.

For Abul Hussein, having a daughter was unbearable. He desperately wanted a son and hated the fact that he had a daughter.
Hussein did the unthinkable and attempted to bury his 10-year-old daughter alive.
In Putia village, in Tripuramnm, northeast India, locals alerted police that Hussein was seen trying to bury his daughter in their backyard. When police arrived on the scene, the girl had her hands tied with rope and her mouth taped; she was buried up to her chest in the ground.
Ruskshena's mother arrived as Hussein was burying their daughter. He temporarily tossed a bamboo basket over her head, with plans of finishing the task later.
After growing suspicious, his wife called out to neighbors for help.

"We received a call from a villager telling us that a man was trying to kill his daughter by burying her alive. Our team immediately reached the house and found Rukshena," explained senior police official, Pradip Dey. "We rescued her and arrested Abul Hussein for attempted murder. He is now in judicial custody until his trial."
Ruskshena briefly fell seriously ill, but was released from the hospital after a few days of being treated. She is now back with her mother, according to Daily Mail.
