Mas de medio millon peregrinaron al Santuario del Senor de la Misericordia de Ocotlan, en el estado de Jalisco, durante 2018, y que recuerda la aparicion de la imagen de Cristo en el cielo de Mexico en 1847.

CIUDAD DE MEXICO (ACI Prensa) - De acuerdo al santuario, fueron en total 574.070 peregrinos los que llegaron para participar en las diversas actividades durante el ano.
La cifra incluye las mas de 127 mil visitas diarias que recibio el templo y las mas de 313 mil personas que participaron en la Misa dominical.
El santuario mexicano alberga la imagen del Senor de la Misericordia, que recuerda la aparicion de Cristo crucificado en el cielo de Ocotlan, a poco mas de 80 kilometros al sureste de Guadalajara, el 3 de octubre de 1847.
La aparicion milagrosa fue vista por mas de dos mil personas.
El santuario se comenzo a construir pocos anos despues de las apariciones. Fue dedicado y consagrado solemnemente el 29 de septiembre de 1870.
