Fallece obispo de Mexico tras larga enfermedad

El Obispo de Gomez Palacio (Mexico), Mons. Jose Fortunato Alvarez Valdez, fallecio en la madrugada del 7 de noviembre, tras una larga enfermedad por problemas gastrointestinales.

CIUDAD DE MEXICO (ACI Prensa) - Mons. Alvarez Valdez habria cumplido 51 anos el 8 de noviembre.

La Conferencia del Episcopado Mexicano (CEM) senalo en un comunicado publicado hoy que "en su dura batalla y frAgil estado, hoy el Senor en los primeros minutos de este dia lo ha llamado a vivir en su pascua eterna".

Mons. Alvarez Valdez sufria de problemas gastrointestinales desde tiempo atras. En marzo de este ano, la CEM indico que Mons. Alvarez Valdez se encontraba "delicado de salud y estA recibiendo atencion medica".

A pesar de una aparente mejora en las ultimas semanas, la CEM y la Diocesis de Gomez Palacio confirmaron hoy la muerte del Prelado.

Los obispos mexicanos aseguraron que "desde nuestra fe en la resurreccion, ponemos nuestra esperanza en el Buen Pastor, Jesucristo, quien lo ha llevado a reposar a los verdes campos y praderas de la eternidad junto a El".

"Nos unimos al dolor de esta hermana diocesis, a su familia, a los sacerdotes, miembros de la vida consagrada y fieles, manteniEndonos unidos en la oracion y en la Eucaristia".

Los obispos alentaron ademas a encomendar el alma de Mons. Alvarez Valdez a Dios y celebrar tres Misas "por su descanso eterno".

"Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe, lo auxilie, lo acompane y lo lleve al cielo. Confiamos el cuerpo y alma de nuestro hermano obispo a la misericordia de Dios", expresaron.
