LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Coptic Christians compose a mere 10 percent of Egypt's Muslim-majority population, leaving them vulnerable to hate crimes and extreme persecution.

In one of several propaganda videos, ISIS, known for their terrorist acts and inhuman treatment of all who dare defy their strict laws, announced their favorite "prey" was Egypt's Coptic Christians.

Egyptian security officials reported two Christians were attacked by the Islamic State.

Sixty-five-year-old Saad Hana and his son, 45-year-old Medhat, were both murdered in el-Arish Wednesday.

Members of the special police forces stand guard to secure the area around the Coptic Orthodox cathedral, in Cairo, complex after a bombing in December.

Saad was shot dead while his son was abducted and burned alive.

Their bodies were discovered on a roadside, where all could see the price of faith.

Officials have been hard at work in their attempts to protect the Christian minorities but there is no way to protect every individual at all times.

Please pray for protection, peace, divine intervention and justice in Egypt.
