ALGIERS, ALGERIA (Catholic Online) - Under the guidance of the experienced jihadists who came back from Syria, dozens of Egyptian fighters, affiliated with the Muslim brotherhood, continue their training in the Southern part of Libya. Weapon handling and the preparation of handmade bombs are among the courses the newly recruited youth master before being sent in the terrain.
The support of Western powers to the Marechal Al Sissi is likely to accentuate ISIS' hatred against Europeans who are the main target.
The future could be dangerous to foreign interests, mainly western diplomatic buildings. "Tourists coming from the old continent could become a main target for the jihadists who diabolize Westerners and consider them accountable in the country's confused situation," explained a Libya-based analyst on condition of anonymity.
Egyptian youth are not the only danger for Westerners. They are also coming from Niger, Chad and Sudan to become trained and ready for different terrorist operations. "Jihadists have access to technology and information. The young people are different from their elders, in term of skill and predisposition. This factor can cause local authorities, not only Egyptians, to be obliged to be in the state of permanent emergency to prevent terrorist actions from being carried out," noted the same Libya-based analyst of Libyan situation.
Some observers of the political and security scene in the Maghreb consider the end of the holy month of Ramadan the appropriate period to resume terrorist activities in the country.
