The war against terrorism initiated by the Tunisian authorities does not seem to be ending soon. The country's security services lack experience in this war against an invisible enemy and are struggling to ensure security in the whole territory.

ALGIERS, ALGERIA (Catholic Online) - The southern part of Tunisia is said to be a safe haven for jihadists affiliated to the Islamic State. Jihadist training camps still exist without being found due to the lack of locals' cooperation.
In addition to this, some dormant cells are being activated in Tunis and the city of Sousse.
Earlier this week, four Tunisian soldiers were killed and six others wounded in an ambush in the Kasserine region, a jihadist activity area in the center-west of the country.

"Five soldiers were martyred and eight others wounded in an ambush against a military patrol in Sbeďtla, according to the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense" stated a local news channel. Deadly clashes between the country's national army and jihadists affiliated with al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) are common in the region Kasserine region, border of Algeria.
Since December 2012, sixty policemen, gendarmes and soldiers, as well, were killed in ambushes and mine explosions. The majority perished in this region. On Mount Chaambi not far from the Algerian territory, jihadists used to find refuge before reorganizing and launching new terrorist attacks.
The most prominent armed group active in the area is the phalanx "Uqbah Ibn Nafaa" linked to al-Qaeda.
