LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - In a 6-3 decision, the United States Supreme Court just announced the overturning of the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision. This is a major ruling, one that will echo for ages.
The ruling plainly states: "The Constitution does not confer a right to abortion; Roe and Casey are overruled."
The Roe v. Wade decision suggested that women have a Constitutional right to seek an abortion. However, the act of abortion is murder of a human person, and it represents a failure of the government to protect human life when it is most vulnerable.

The overturning of Roe v. Wade does not end all abortion. Instead, it allows states to make their own laws regarding the evil practice. About half of all states are expected to pass some kind of new laws to restrict or even outlaw abortion in the wake of today's ruling.
Each year, an average of 625,000 abortions are officially reported. However, the actual numbers are probably higher. Each abortion represents the untimely death, that is murder, of an unborn human child. That the child is living is beyond dispute. That the child is human is also beyond scientific dispute. Given these indisputable scientific facts, the practice of abortion becomes appalling, even in the face of all other arguments.
Today represents the greatest victory for life in more than two generations of American history. However, the fight for life is not yet ended, and in some ways may have only just begun as the forces of evil regroup. Let us continue the fight and work to protect every human life, from the moment of conception, to the moment of natural death.
