LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Corkill, mother of two, was mentally prepared to see she was giving birth to a little girl but the ultrasound revealed two very shocking things:
- She was carrying a boy
- Her late grandmother was watching over the unborn child from within the womb
"I felt sick and just started sobbing," Corkill told the Liverpool Echo. "I knew instantly it was her face and I was just so shocked to see her again. It was like she was letting me know that she is here and looking after the baby."
Corkill's grandmother, Mary Parkinson, passed away in 2001, so when her face appeared in the ultrasound of Corkill's unborn son, the shock was too much.
"I used to see her everyday and we were devastated when she died as she was only quite young at 66," Corkill admitted.
Louise Corkill carried an image of her late grandmother in a pendant until the chain snapped recently. Then her grandmother reappeared in her unborn son's ultrasound.
"I have that picture of her in a pendant that I used to wear, but the chain snapped on it recently. There is just no denying it is her, I am still flabbergasted by it.
"It is reassuring as well though and my instant reaction was that she is looking after the baby."
Corkill shared how the technician had difficulty getting a picture of the babe due to his position and, after several attempts, chose to print that particular image to reveal the gender of the baby.
Many claim it is all a hoax, just a good Photoshop job, so Corkill has been carrying it as evidence and plans to eventually frame the image.
"Everyone is amazed, my partner John and my mum couldn't believe it," Corkill explained. "My mum said she just can't stop looking at it. I showed a woman in the office and she nearly dropped her coffee. I am a very spiritual person myself and I believe in the afterlife, but I just think it is amazing."
