Little Puss-Puss was discovered drenched in blood and dragging her soft little paws.

When cat-owner Doug Taw heard a few gunshots in his Ardleigh, Essex neighborhood, he thought nothing of it. He continued with his regular routine until he realized his 3-year-old cat, Puss-Puss, didn't come home that night.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - According to The Telegraph, Taw explained Puss-Puss was nowhere to be seen, "Then we found her crouched under a car, frightened and injured. She ran off and we couldn't find her for a week.

"I was beside myself with worry. Then she eventually dragged herself back in a terrible state and we rushed her straight to the vet."

Poor little Puss-Puss was discovered drenched in blood and dragging her bleeding paws.

Daily News revealed Puss-Puss underwent an X-ray, which revealed 30 different pellet wounds.

Inspector Adam Jones stated: "We were shocked to find that Puss-Puss was peppered with such an extraordinary number of pellet wounds all over her body and head.

"One was in her paw, making it hard for her to walk, and another in the middle of her eye - causing a detached retina. The vet said two had just missed her spinal cord and it is a miracle she survived."

When Taw discovered the truth behind Puss-Puss' injuries, he could only say, "I just can't think what sort of person could have done this to her."

Thankfully, Puss-Puss survived the attack and is expected to recover entirely - with the exception of her eye, which required removal.

Taw stated, "It's heartbreaking seeing her in such a distressed state, and I am so upset that she will now lose her eye."

The RSPCA asks that anyone with information about Puss-Puss' abuse contact them at 0300-123-8018.
