What happened to MH370? Family of missing passengers believe their loved ones have been imprisoned

'We believe our loved ones may still be alive and are being held at an undisclosed location for unknown reasons.'

When Malaysian Air flight MH370 went missing in 2014 with 239 passengers on board, several conspiracy theories began to circulate. Friends and family of the missing people continue to believe their loved ones are being held captive somewhere by an unknown organization for unknown reasons.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - A wing flap identified by French officials to belong to missing MH370 is not enough evidence for the still-mourning relatives. The group continues to insist their loved ones are captives somewhere "for unknown reasons."

In exchange for their loved ones back, the families have offered their "forgiveness" to the captors.

A statement issued in Kuala Lumpur, the Malaysian city the Boeing 777 departed from, reported families continue to believe their relatives were held prisoner somewhere and refuse to acknowledge the wing flap as part of MH370.

The families came together to release a joint statement saying, "We believe our loved ones may still be alive and are being held at an undisclosed location for unknown reasons.

"In the absence of proof to the contrary, we believe it is possible the missing may still be alive. If this is so, we would willingly grant the perpetrators amnesty in return for the release of the missing."

In response to the flaperon discovered on Reunion, the group stated, "We do not believe any of the series of official statements starting from March 24, 2015, up to and including that of September 3, 2015. There is no real proof justifying any of these statements."

The statement was delivered to officials in several other countries, all of whom had nationals on board. The countries include Australia, France, the United States, Russia, Taiwan, Ukraine, New Zealand, the Netherlands, China, Canada, India, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Though thoughts of living relatives as prisoners seems far-fetched, the time in which it took French officials to determine the origins of the wing flap roused suspicions of a conspiracy.

Some believed the plane was hijacked or a "rogue" crew member could have taken over. Thoughts of a bomb or some kind of accident involving an explosion were presented as an explanation for possible equipment failure and the shattering of MH370's body.

Others conclude an air pressure failure caused everyone on board to fall unconscious, which left the plane to crash into the sea or fly into danger while on auto-pilot.
