MUNTINLUPA CITY, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - A miracle that defied "all medical odds" occurred for the couple after they received a blessing from Pope Francis.
Liz and Ryan desperately wanted a child, to complete their family. However, their dreams of conceiving a child became unrealistic, because medical doctors informed the couple the possibilities of conceiving a child was impossible them.
The couple encountered Pope Francis last year during a visit to Rome. They described the moment as "the most incredible moment" in their life.
"I just felt so full of joy when we were in his presence," explained Liz.
After the visit, the couple received the most beautiful blessing, one they had been longing for. Liz and Ryan discovered they were expecting triplets. Their family welcomed Andrew, Elliot and Nicholas into the world last August 20.
The couple's life was forever changed by Pope Francis. During the couple's encounter with the pope, Ryan and Liz knew that the marital blessing they were receiving from the pope promised "something almost magical to happen."
They were very surprised to learn they were expecting three kids just a few weeks after their miraculous moment with the pope. Their son Elliot was given the middle name "Francis" in honor of the pontiff.
The two are excited for the arrival of Pope Francis in New York City, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. next week as the pontiff visits America. They believe the pope will make a lasting change on the lives of the people he encounters during his visit - and on the whole nation, as well.
"Your life has changed once you've met him," Liz expressed.
