FREE Catholic Classes
Julie Mott's body was reported stolen from her casket after her funeral service on Saturday and was discovered missing the following day. There were no signs of forced entry and it wasn't until the funeral home staff was preparing for her transfer to the crematorium that they discovered the missing body. A man obsessed with Mott may have stolen her and police are keeping information on the probable suspect withheld from the public until the return of the body.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - "We just want our daughter's remains returned, so we can have some closure to our grief," Julie's father Tim Mott says during an interview with KSAT.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, the body was probably taken during the three hours between her funeral service and the closing of the funeral home. They also noted that there are no signs of forced entry to the establishment but the case is one-of-a-kind, which may have been of interest to the suspect.
"This was not a case of somebody thinking they were stealing an empty casket. The body was the clear target," said Sgt. Javier Salazar, as cited from The Daily Mail.
They are trying to track down every possible suspect, but their main focus is a man who is described to have been obsessed with her. He tirelessly called and texted Motts prior to her death. Authorities have described the man as in his 20s but have refused to provide further details to the public.
Dick Tips, owner of Mission Park North funeral home and a personal friend of Julie's, suggested that the person is someone unbelieving of cremation. He is offering a reward of $20,000 for information that can lead the authorities to her body's retrieval.
Julie died peacefully on August 8 after a lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis.
