MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - Her father, Ziauddin Yousafzai proudly explained to Daily Mail via Twitter, "My wife Toor Pekai and I are proud of Malala getting 6A*s and 4As. Education is for every child."
Malala survived the failed assassination in October 2012, when she was just 14-years-old. The attempted murder was plotted by angered rebels in the Swat Valley in Pakistan, following her stand for equal rights and education for girls. A bullet fortunately missed her brain when she was shot inside a school bus. Malala suffered life-threatening injuries and was treated at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
Malala became the youngest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, last year. She was allowed to stay in Birmingham and currently goes to Edgbaston High School, earning top A* grades in both science and religious classes.
She was reported to have garnered As in history, geography, English language, as well as in English Literature. Malala told the Guardian about life juggling school and being a global activist.
"I will only miss school for an engagement if it is going to bring real change," she explained. "That is the question I have to ask myself with each request and if the answer is yes, I say OK, I will sacrifice one day of my school for the education of millions of children who are out of school."
Last month, Malala called on world leaders to stop "failing" the Syrians, and described the current situation in Syria as a "heartbreaking tragedy" during her speech at the opening of the Malala Fund girls' school in Lebanon.
