Priests warn Ouija board, disguised as children's toy on Amazon, to have negative effects

Toy giant Hasbro created a toy modeled after the "portal of demons," the Ouija board, and is selling it on Amazon.com. The website is now under fire after people have voiced out complaints about the new toy released, which is recommended for kids as young as eight. The Ouija board also comes in a pink color for little girls, complete with a planchette and the classic board, according to The Daily Mail.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - Although there are some who consider the Ouija as an innocent game to be played at parties, there are some concerned who warn it triggers psychological harm in children.
The church has been firm that the Ouija is nothing but a "portal of demons," saying that the spirit world possesses real dangers when opened. A priest expresses that the website and the manufacturers are so irresponsible for marketing the device to young children.
"There are spiritual realities out there and they can be very negative. I would hugely recommend people not to have anything to do with the occult. People find they are having strange dreams, strange things happening to them, even poltergeist activity," said Peter Irwin-Clark, vicar of the Church of England.
He also noted that parents should never buy the controversial "toy" for their kids. According to Fr. Irwin-Clark, the Ouija board opens and shuts the doors to the spirit world where humans have no control.
Hasbro's Ouija for kids in Amazon is probably gaining the insurmountable attention following the controversies of a makeshift "spiritual" challenge, "Charlie, Charlie," popular on the Internet.
After a series of unfortunate events tied to engagement with the challenge, Catholic Church officials like priests have been firm in their strong warning about the realities of the spirit world and the scary consequences challengers face.
