MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - By forming the Good News Club, the devoted pastor will meet with interested children, after their classes, to learn and discuss Christianity, focusing on good moral behavior. During the after-school club, the children will receive their own copies of the Bible.
"The Good News Club is... here to teach the kids good moral behavior. It is here to help the kids come to Christ. It is here to give them an understanding of what is right and what is wrong, and to change wrong behavior," explained Pastor Moss in a statement.
With permission from their parents, students will be able to participate in the private Christian club, which will be carried out two times a year with a six week session during the fall and another during the spring, according to WDBJ-TV.
The club's venue is said to have no special requirements or rules.
"There is no settlement of any type. This is a normal routine policy that has been in place for years," said Superintendent Pam Heath.
The Good News Club is Pastor Moss' answer after his first project of putting a box of Bibles in the public school for anyone interested to pick up a copy got rejected in 2014. At that time, despite the disappointment, the pastor expressed that it is their right to accept or refuse his proposal.
With his new project, a pair of parents expressed that they are in favor of it, stating that their five-year-old daughter loves attending the Good News Club.
