In an eight-minute segment on the 'The Meredith Vieira Show', Ruth Amerson was reunited with a pair of brothers she has placed together for an adoption eleven years ago. One of them, now a student at the Naval Academy, went even though his Achilles tendon was torn with cast on leg. The brothers expressed their thanks to Amerson's, saying that it is due to her dedication that their lives had become better. Amerson said that "God is so good," after seeing them together.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - Her agency, Another Choice, Inc., is estimated as helping place 25 to 40 abandoned "last chance" children a year into homes and was able to keep 95 percent of these families intact.
Amerson said that she's going to continue helping kids and families unite as long as she is alive, believing that God created her to fulfill that mission.
She hopes one day, her purpose will no longer be needed - that she has no more waiting children to keep because they were already welcomed and kept by families with open hearts.
Be the one who gives the perfect gift for your loved one's First Holy Communion
Amerson has worked on this project for 20 years and has helped place a thousand African-American children with adoptive families after Another Choice, Inc. was founded in 1995.
"[I] got tired of getting same replies over and over again from prospect adoptive parents: they do not want to adopt black children," she explained.
Her job as a social worker before had opened her to the reality that there are these children that nobody wanted to adopt, as determined by agencies themselves, especially if they are already in school and teenage years, or with siblings who have needs/requests not to be separated.
Her adoption agency is the first to cater to African-American children in the state of North Carolina, as her personal mission.
For Amerson, there will always be another choice, so these children should not give up and spend their whole lives in foster care without a forever family.
"There are other families out there that are willing to open their hearts and take the kids that other folks figure [they are] just 'no good', and give them hope," she said in the prior recorded interview.
At the end of the segment, Meredith Vieira presented her a $1000 check from Zoe's Kitchen, who was inspired by her heartwarming dedication.
