LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - June is "Heartbeat of the Family" month, a global celebration from Catholic Online that emphasizes the value of the family with Christ at its heart. We will share content and features that you can read and share with others to promote the Catholic family.

Last week, we asked our readers, "What do you think is the heartbeat of your family?" Virtually all responses offered Christ as the answer.

Join us in praying for all families!

Christ is definitely the center of all Christian families, for Jesus sets the example for every member to follow. We are to be like Christ, living a life of compassion and love, performing good works and giving thanks to Our Father from whom all good things come.

Yet the heartbeat of a family can also be different things to different people. For example, a baby in the womb of a newlywed couple can be the wondrous heartbeat of that family.

Perhaps the heartbeat of your family is a grandmother, who sets a faithful example to the rest. Each holiday the family gather around her, they attend church with her and cannot imagine living in a world without her wisdom and grace.

Whatever the heartbeat of your family may be, we pray that it is a Christian heart that beats within it.

Please keep visiting Catholic.org to read articles about these topics and others and see how your family fits with each teaching that we share.

In the months to come, we will have other themes as well. Each of these themes is intended to serve as a global celebration, with all our readers from around the world, invited to read, comment, benefit from and share what we publish each day.

May we continue to be a happy influence in your lives and in the lives of all we reach.
