El Papa Francisco recibio esta manana en la Sala del Consistorio del Palacio Apostolico Vaticano a los "Patrons of the Arts", benefactores de los Museos Vaticanos, y les recordo que el arte "une a Dios, al hombre y a la creacion en una sola sinfonia".

El Santo Padre agradecio a los benefactores, cuya asociacion cumple 35 anos, pues "vuestra generosidad ha contribuido enormemente a la restauracion de numerosos tesoros artisticos que se conservan en los Museos Vaticanos".
"Habeis continuado asi una tradicion que atraviesa los siglos, imitando las gestas de quienes pasaron a la historia de la Iglesia por la puerta del arte, por ejemplo, subvencionando los frescos y sarcofagos en las catacumbas, las grandes catedrales romĂ¡nicas y goticas, las obras de Miguel ĂÂngel, Rafael, Bernini y Canova".
El Papa destaco que "el arte, en la historia, ha sido solo superado por la vida a la hora de dar testimonio del Senor. De hecho, ha sido y es un camino prioritario que permite el acceso a la fe mĂ¡s que muchas palabras e ideas, porque con la fe comparte el mismo sendero, el de la belleza".
"Es una belleza, la del arte, que es buena para la vida y crea comunion", dijo, y destaco que "conecta el pasado, el presente y el futuro" y "atrae en el mismo lugar e involucra en la misma mirada a gentes y pueblos distantes".
El Santo Padre senalo que la celebracion del aniversario de los "Patrons of the Arts" de los Museos Vaticanos "significa, pues, recordar con gratitud todo esto, pero tambien significa renovar la conciencia de una mision importante, la de preservar una belleza que es tan beneficiosa para el hombre".
"Contemplar el gran arte, expresion de la fe, nos ayuda, en particular, a redescubrir lo que importa en la vida. De hecho, el arte cristiano nos conduce a nuestro interior y nos eleva por encima de nosotros mismos: nos devuelve al Amor que nos creo, a la Misericordia que nos salva, a la Esperanza que nos aguarda".
"En nuestro mundo inquieto, hoy desafortunadamente tan desgarrado y afeado por el egoismo y la logica del poder, el arte representa, tal vez incluso mĂ¡s que en el pasado, una necesidad universal, ya que es fuente de armonia y paz y es una expresion de la gratuidad", aseguro.
