Cardenal DiNardo tras encuentro con el Papa:

El Cardenal Daniel DiNardo, presidente de la Conferencia de Obispos Catolicos de Estados Unidos (USCCB), se pronuncio tras el encuentro que sostuvo con el Papa Francisco sobre las diversas denuncias de abusos sexuales en ese pais: "el escucho profundamente con el corazon".

ROMA (ACI Prensa) - En un comunicado publicado por la USCCB tras el encuentro realizado hoy en el Vaticano, el Cardenal DiNardo expreso su agradecimiento "con el Santo Padre por recibirnos en audiencia. Compartimos con el Papa Francisco nuestra situacion en los Estados Unidos y como el Cuerpo de Cristo es lacerado por el mal del abuso sexual".
El Papa Francisco recibio hoy al Cardenal DiNardo junto al Arzobispo de Los Angeles y vicepresidente de la USCCB, Mons. Jose Gomez; Mons. Brian Bransfield, secretario general de la USCCB; y al Cardenal Sean Patrick Oâ₏ Malley, Arzobispo de Boston, Comision Pontificia para la Proteccion de Menores".
El encuentro se produce a casi un mes de que la Corte Suprema del estado de Pensilvania, en Estados Unidos, difundiera un informe denunciando mas de mil casos de abusos sexuales por parte del clero en ese pais durante los ultimos 70 anos.
Recientemente tambien se hicieron publicas las denuncias contra el ex cardenal Theodore McCarrick, Arzobispo Emerito de Washington, por casos de abusos sexuales y de acoso a seminaristas.
El Cardenal DiNardo aseguro este 13 de septiembre que el Papa Francisco "escucho profundamente con el corazon".
"Fue un intercambio largo, fructifero y bueno", destaco.
"Al salir de la audiencia, rezamos el angelus juntos por la misericordia y la fuerza de Dios mientras trabajamos para sanar las heridas".
El presidente de la USCCB dijo ademas que "esperamos continuar activamente nuestro discernimiento para identificar los proximos pasos mas efectivos".
