Iglesia en Colombia aplica plan para ayudar a damnificados por desbordes de rios

El Obispo de Puerto Inirida (Colombia), Mons. Joselito Carreno, informo que se ha empezado a aplicar un plan de emergencia para socorrer a los miles de damnificados que ha dejado el desborde de al menos ocho rios en el oriente del pais.

BOGOTA (ACI Prensa) - Desde hace un mes una ola invernal afecta los departamentos de Guainia y Vichada -ambos en la frontera con Venezuela-, con lluvias que han provocado el desborde de rios y la inundacion de la zona.
Segun indico en su sitio web la Conferencia Episcopal de Colombia (CEC), el 50% del Guainia esta inundado y 14 de los 28 barrios indigenas de Puerto Carreno, capital del Vichada, estan afectados por el desborde de los rios. Las autoridades indicaron que hay unas 16 mil familias damnificadas.
"Hemos acudido a la ayuda de la Pastoral Social Nacional, a los bancos de alimentos de las ciudades de Villavicencio y Bogota, y a personas de buen corazon, con el fin de solventar las necesidades basicas de los afectados", aseguro el Prelado.
Mons. Carreno Quinonez dijo que esta coordinando con el Obispo de Puerto Carreno, Mons. Francisco Ceballos Escobar, para recibir de algunas instituciones de la Iglesia las ayudas para atender a las comunidades nativas afectadas.
Por su parte, el Vicariato de Puerto Carreno informo que el 4 de agosto se realizara un "radioton" con el lema "Lo que siente uno, lo sentimos todos. Ayudanos a ayudar", para recaudar fondos a favor de los damnificados.
Asimismo, la CEC informo que la Diocesis de Socorro y San Gil esta coordinando la recoleccion de alimentos y ropa para los damnificados por la emergencia invernal en el municipio de San Gil, en el departamento de Santander.El jueves 28 de julio las lluvias provocaron el desborde de varias quebradas y el colapso del sistema de alcantarillado en este municipio. Hay por lo menos 90 familias damnificadas.
