En un telegrama enviado a las autoridades eclesiásticas en Japon, a traves del Secretario del Secretario del Estado de Vaticano, Cardenal Pietro Parolin, el Papa Francisco ha expresado su tristeza por las victimas mortales provocadas por las ultimas inundaciones en el pais.

VATICANO (ACI Prensa) - En el texto, el Pontifice se muestra "profundamente entristecido" y "expresa su sincera solidaridad con todos los afectados por esta tragedia".

"Reza especialmente por el descanso de los difuntos, la curacion de los heridos y el consuelo de todos los que sufren" y al mismo tiempo "ofrece aliento a las autoridades civiles y a todos los involucrados en la busqueda y rescate".

Al menos 85 personas han muerto y dos millones de personas se han sido obligadas a abandonar sus hogares por la intensa lluvia que azota el suroeste de Japon en los ultimos dias y que a su vez ha provocado deslizamientos de tierra.
