LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Jessica Andrews, a photographer in Wesleyville, Newfoundland and Labrador, was sorting through her photos of a recent romp in her backyard when she discovered an image of a polar bear.

It was squatting on its hind legs at the foot of a large cross and it was looking up. Its paws appeared to be in a prayerful pose, which shocked 22-year-old Andrews.

"I didn't notice it when I was taking them, but when I started to go through to edit them, oh my God, I was like, 'Holy crap, he's praying!' she told the Toronto Sun.

The animal is the first polar bear Andrews has ever come across and she excitedly took several images.

Animals poised as if in prayer.

"He stood up and put his paw on the cross and that's the picture I took. It was almost like he was staring right at me. It looked like he was having so much fun and it made me happy!"
