LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Acuna's evangelical exorcism school has been overrun by people desperate for healing and clergy desperate to help.
Acuna, a Lutheran pastor, has been training members of the clergy to be "exorcism consultants" and explained to AFP his students "study the devil's character and how he works."
Unlike Vatican-taught exorcists, Acuna's pupils don't seem to be taught to check if the condition may be a mental illness.
He simply stated: "The exorcism consultant will be able to determine where there is a case of a demonic presence, possession, oppression, obsession or a curse."
His fellow clergyman have become suspicious of him yet hundreds flock to his church for exorcism nights.
True exorcists are specially trained priests who have the power and authority to remove demonic holds on people.
The true Rite of Exorcism is a carefully-guarded secret and any attempt to exercise a demon is dangerous.
Priests often express the importance of discerning genuine cases of possession from cases of mental health.
Exorcisms are also kept private, as others can be endangered by the presence of real evil.
Beware false prophets and keep yourself safe from the enemy's hold by following the Word of God.
