LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The "Pray for Peace" video features people of all walks of life holding their hands together in prayer then putting their fingers up in peace signs.
Reba took to Facebook to share the video and included the following caption:
"The idea to write the song 'Pray For Peace' came to me last year as I was walking on our place in Gallatin, Tn. For days I'd sing, 'Pray for Peace', over and over. It wasn't until several months later did the other parts start to fall in place. Some, not until we got into the studio to record it.
"I feel this song is a gift from God. I have never worked on a song as long as this one. It went from a bass drum, fiddle and singers to guest artist singing with me, adding more instruments and even a choir and a bagpipe!
'It's an act of perseverance, prayer, hope, fellowship and mostly love."
Many have found comfort in the song and some commenters, such as Marty Funderburk, believe God is working through Reba. Funderburk wrote: "I get the feeling that God is about to usher in a new era of ministry and influence for you Reba. This took courage and faith to accomplish.
"I cheer you and join your prayer for peace. Please...PLEASE keep allowing your voice to be heard in such worthwhile ways. Much love to you!"
The song could not have been released at a better time.
Around the world, militaries are combating each other, terrorists thrive on the spread of fear, millions have lost their homes, children are drowning in their pursuit of survival and all seems lost.
It is in dark times such as these when prayer is needed most.
Please join Reba in her prayers for peace and call upon the Lord for positive change.
