LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - While the Supreme Court considers a Texas pro-life law, Texas Loves Life calls for Christians to pray for the fates of future unborn generations.
"Working together under the banner Texas Loves Life, our purpose is to mobilize ongoing prayer for life and justice to be upheld at the U.S. Supreme Court," Bound4LIFE's website claims.
"A coalition of pro-life and faith-based groups - including Bound4LIFE International, The Justice Foundation, Texas Values, The Heidi Group, Students for Life of America, Texas Apostolic Prayer Network, Christ for the Nations Institute, World Prayer Center -DFW, David's Tend DC and United Cry - we believe every life is worth protecting. #TXLovesLife"
Protesters bind their mouths with red tape with a single, powerful word written across: "LIFE."
The significance of the tape is to identify "with the silence of the pre-born who have no voice to defend themselves. In that place of weakness, prayerlessness is no longer an option."
Bound4LIFE asks, "What could happen if every church would rise up in prayer and stand in the authority of Christ against the spiritual forces of darkness that are seeking to destroy a generation in the womb?"
Matt Lockett, the executive director for Bound4LIFE International and Justice House of Prayer, DC, explained, "We're not doing it for press conferences, lobbying or other common reasons. The coalition Texas Loves Life exists solely to pray for the Supreme Court."The U.S. Supreme Court is overseeing a challenge to HB 2, which is an act that contains several abortion restrictions. Carol Everett, the founder of The Heidi Group, reported HB 2 has resulted in 40,000 saved lives since 2013.
As The Guardian explained, Roe v. Wade is no longer enough. It is not specific enough and the ongoing pro-life v. pro-choice battle has reached a tipping point.
The best conclusion Christians have arrived at is to trust that God can change the atmosphere, people's hearts and their minds.
"Prayer is a partnership - first, between each of us and God," Lockett explained.
"The next five months are some of the most pivotal the pro-life movement has ever faced. It's why I feel such an urgency to see Christians working together to pray specifically for this case."
