LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Radio Vatican denied all claims that Pope Francis "will play himself" in "Beyond the Sun," with Monsignor Dario Edoardo Viganň stating only "video clips of the Pope could appear in the film."
Despite Radio Vatican's announcement, AMBI Distribution reported that "Beyond the Sun" will include "an epilogue from Pope Francis telling children how and where to find Jesus."
"Beyond the Sun" is a family adventure "where children from different cultures emulate the apostles while searching for Jesus in the world around them."
AMBI co-founders Andrew Iervolino and Lady Monika Bacardi report that the story is of a group of children "learning from their experiences in a forest using love, hope and faith."The Guardian reported all profits from the film are going to be donated to two different Argentinian charities. One charity helps at-risk children while the other focuses on young adults.
Iervolino stated: "Our excitement and gratitude toward His Holiness, Pope Francis, participating in this film is beyond words. This is not just a movie for us, it's a message, and who better to have on your side to deliver an important societal and spiritual message than the Pope?"
Despite ongoing claims that Pope Francis will be in the movie, Msgr. Viganň continues to claim, "The Pope is not an actor."
