FREE Catholic Classes
In a story that sounds like the plot of a religious film, a nun, who stepped outside to pray, heard the cries of an elderly man caught beneath a tree in the frigid Wrentham, MA night.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Seventy-four-year-old Douglas Goldman was out in the woods with his chainsaw one night when he attempted to cut down a tree.
Though Goldman's home is heated by burning wood and he has years of experience chopping trees, that night the tree fell just right and he was pinned to the ground.
The 10-inch diameter tree landed on Goldman's leg and he was left helpless and calling for help.Lucky for Goldman, a nun from Mount Saint Mary's Abbey was praying outside and she heard his cries. By the time she discovered him, Goldman had been pinned for two hours and was beginning to shift into hypothermia.
CBS Boston reported Wrentham police and firemen responded to the nun's call for help and were able to remove Goldman from beneath the tree.He was transported to Boston Medical Center for his lower leg injury and hypothermia.
Captain Robert Harrison of Wrentham Fire Department stated, "It could have been life threatening [sic] if he wasn't found when he was."
The nun, who hails from an order known for making Trappistine Quality Candy, was never identified.
