LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Many companies have opened up to diversity in the workplace, advertisements and general policies, so the Faith Driven Consumer is targeting companies to provide more religious and family friendly products and policies to truly encompass the diversity of its consumers.
Organizers believe a company that opens its arms to the LGBT community can do the same for the religious community, and Hollywood has already reached out to the 41-million-strong Christian market by providing films such as Risen and Ben Hur.According to Faith Driven Consumer's Faith Equality Index, few other companies have embraced Christian consumers the way Hollywood has.
Companies were graded between 1 (poor) to 100 (excellent) and as of Tuesday, October 3, the highest ranking company was Chick-fil-A with a score of 63.Full reviews can be found on their website.
The hashtag AddUsIn was created in support of the plan, which Chris Stone, founder of Faith Driven Global, described was a way to focus "major brands on the newest color in their rainbow, Faith Driven Consumers. Like every community, Faith Driven Consumers expect to be welcomed by the companies they do business with and work for. FEI affords the marketplace a transparent tool to measure where brands stand.
"We congratulate the inaugural leaders and look forward to working with them, and the other rated brands, in the coming months-helping them all progressively improve their scores. We recognize that many brands still have a long way to go in welcoming, embracing, and celebrating Faith Driven Consumers at parity with their other diversity communities, and are diligently working with all brands as they seek to understand and embrace this key constituency."
