We ask you, urgently: don't scroll past this
Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.Help Now >

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - Three years in prison, six felonies and a number of misdemeanors would normally alarm policemen, but Amey did something unpredictable and inspiring instead. He prayed for the officer who once arrested him for a gun charge that landed him in jail.
"I pray that you continue to watch over him. Continue to guide him and lead him in the way that you may have him go, Lord," prayed Amey.
The Blaze reported Amey's decision to become a Christian and his call to pray for officers.
"The last week and a half, God has really been giving me the urge to pray for police officers," said Amey during an interview with KBMT-TV.
Amey and Officer Chapa were photographed praying together by the policeman's friend Kevin Woods, who later posted it to Facebook where it was shared by the police department.
Woods wrote: "This man wanted to pray for the officers safety. We should be seeing more of this in America. There shouldn't be race involved and this is living proof that color doesn't matter. This is a prime example."
