Theft victim gets belongings back and lives.

For robbery victim Shaquille Hairston, that moment at 3 a.m. was something that was supposed to happen, because he and his assailant both needed it. As he get off the bus in Euclid, Ohio, he noticed that a man was following him and it wasn't long before the man pointed a gun at Shaquille and demanded he give everything he had. Not knowing if he would make it out alive, Shaquille prayed out loudly; that moment completely altered the scene between the two men.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - "He stopped me. He said 'Aye bruh' and I turned around and he pulled out a gun and said 'gimme everything you got. He raised the gun up and he was like 'I'll shoot you. I'm not playing with you, man,'" said Hairston in an interview with the WJW-TV.

According to The Blaze, the 21-year-old told the man that he had no money to give. The assailant hit his head with the pistol, leading him to hand over his phone and wallet.

However, Shaquille did not succumb to fear.

Instead of keeping his silence, he prayed loudly to God, asking Him to help his assailant and his family. He even asked the man to attend his church, leaving the robber all the more astounded.

Shaquille admitted he prayed initially to keep God with him as he was unable to gauge whether he would live after this, considering his assailant was desperate and armed. He then did the unthinkable and turned the whole scenario around, causing the robber to open up to him.

According to Shaquille, the robber started telling him about his unemployment and explaining that this was the first time he did something like this. Rather than running away with Shaquille's surrendered belongings, the man apologized and returned everything before leaving.

"He said 'man, you're like really blessed' and I said 'no, you're blessed' and I said 'I'll be praying for you and your family. And then he was like, 'Ok' and he shook my hand and he went about his way."

Although Shaquille did report the incident to the police, he noted that he has already forgiven the man and wishes him well.
