ROME, ITALY (Catholic Online) - Pope Francis will attend the Second International Conference on Nutrition (ICN2) to take place in Rome on November 19-21. Ending world hunger is a cornerstone issue for Pope Francis who has pledged to end world hunger by 2025.

Pope Francis made an appeal last December, pointing out the painful reality that, "We are scandalized because we know that there is enough food for everyone and that hunger is the result of a poor distribution of goods and income. The problem is made worse by the generalized practice of wastefulness."

Act now - Join Pope Francis is his good work to feed the world. Let no child go hungry.

Despite this wastefulness, Pope Francis believes the Church can do much to solve the problem. In fact, it may be the only institution that can. The Catholic Church is found in virtually every corner of the globe and in many places it provides the only social services available.

In addition to this distribution network, it is also a moral institution without an agenda beyond caring for people.

Recent studies by both the Church and secular organizations have surprisingly agreed that the fight against world hunger can be won by 2025. The alliance of institutions such as the World Health Organization, Caritas Internationalis, and the Roman Catholic Church, aided by individuals in every country around the world, are precisely the force needed to provide the redistribution of food resources to sustain every person on the planet.

Development is also a factor as many countries industrialize or gain access to modern distribution networks.

There is an incredible quantity of food produced each year, but transferring that food to areas ravaged by corruption, famine and conflict can be difficult. Ultimately, it will not be secular governments that can harbor corruption or participate in conflict, but the Church which is above these things that will cure the problem.

In order to accomplish this success, Pope Francis will share his vision with ICN2 and is expected to talk about his sustained campaign of 'Prayer and Action' which has already put tons of food into the mouths of starving families around the world. Just over a year into his pontificate, Francis has already saved thousands if not millions of people.

None of this would be possible without you, however. If you have donated to feed the poor through your parish or Your Catholic Voice Foundation, then you have already done a portion of what's required of you to end world hunger.

We ask you, humbly: don't scroll away.

However, we still have just over a decade to go and hunger never takes a vacation. Every person is urged to continue contributing what they can until the day when Pope Francis can announce that every hungry child has been fed by the generosity of good people like you.
