Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - on April 27, a historic event will take place in which two recent popes are canonized by two living pontiffs. Pope Emeritus Benedict and Pope Francis will preside jointly over the canonization of the Blessed Popes John Paul II and John XXIII.
The time to prepare for this historic event is now. The Catholic Church recognizes as a saint any individual who has lived a life of merit and who by miracles attributed after death, have demonstrated their communion with God to the living on Earth. Both Pope John Paul II and John XXIII have been qualified in this respect.
There are many affordable commemorative items here.
Although it is God, not the Church who makes saints, the Church's recognition of a saint is important. It informs us that it is right and acceptable to venerate these individuals, to model their example and to ask them for intercession.
As we make our petitions to these holy men, we are also justified in commemorating their memories. Catholics traditionally commemorate such people with medallions worn about the neck and with special prayers. This is an ancient tradition within the Church that dates back to the earliest days of the faith.
You too are invited to participate in this tradition of prayer and honor for these wondrous and saintly men. Visit Catholic Shopping .com to browse our John Paul II collection and our John XXIII collection. Prayer cards are also available for these new saints, and new prayer cards will be made after their canonization is official.
A special coin is also being struck to commemorate this event and will be made available shortly.
We expect these items will all go fairly quickly because of the historical nature of this event and the popularity of these new saints. You will need to order now to ensure timely processing of your order.
