FREE Catholic Classes
Unexplained phenomena of strong dust storms are sweeping cities all over the globe, blocking the sun and darkening the day. The massive dust storms, known as haboob in Arabic, begun polluting some parts of the world at the beginning of the year. Theories surfaced as people kept suffering from large amounts of dust mixing with the air, however, experts are still confused on what caused the rare "apocalyptic" dust storm phenomenon.

According to a report by RT, it was caused by the cold-front moving along the Ukrainian-Belorusian border.
One speculation from an expert is that the excessive heat makes these places more likely to have dust storms, with the climate change damaging the environmental systems. However, this theory was disputed by a European scientist citing the phenomenon has occurred over decades in the past.
"The dust is produced from source areas in North Africa, incorporated into a northerly airflow and can travel long distances before being deposited as far away as the UK," explained Dr. Steven Godby, a geographer from the Nottingham Trent University, studying the blown sand and dust in their area. "However, the events we experience are small scale compared to those experienced closer to major dust sources," he added.
Earlier, it was reported that the United Kingdom was covered in Saharan Dust, resulting in another rare event "blood rain."

China has issued a precaution with its National Meteorological Center (NMC) coding a blue alert, because of the current dust storm. The country has been suffering with heightened pollution during the fourth massive sandstorm hitting their territories, causing many problems including difficulties breathing among citizens.
