MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - According to The Daily Mail, taping for the special episode of Running Wild with Bear Grylls will start on Tuesday at Exit Glacier in the Kenai Mountains.
Obama is in the region for his three-day trip to attend a climate change conference, meet with Native American leaders and visit the Alaska Arctic glaciers.
Reports state the expanse of ice is retreating as the result of a warming climate, according to environmentalists.
Obama will meet with Grylls and undergo a crash course on survival techniques. NBC announced that the special edition episode will be aired by the later part of this year.
The reality show is on its second edition where the survivalist asks big names in Hollywood like Channing Tatum, Ed Helms, Kate Hudson and Kate Winslet to join him into the wild where they employ various survival methods.
Michele Rodriguez, of The Fast and The Furious, was asked to eat mouse stewed in her own urine as they pursued the desert in a recent episode.
Kate Winslet used her tampon supply to create a fire during their two-day camp in the mountains of Snowdonia, Wales earlier this year. The Academy Award winning actress even ate earthworms for lunch during her stint on the show.
New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees will join Grylls for the season finale, airing September 7.
