Comic-Con's Christian activists bombarded by Devil promoters involved with A&E's new series 'Damien'

Comic-con is an event known to be frequented by religious protesters. A&E's new series "Damien" is using a very unusual approach to get noticed at Comic-Con. During the recent convention, publicity materials for the "Omen" prequel "Damien" were distributed side by side with the actual religious protestors at the convention.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - Instead of saying "Jesus saves" and "Jesus will rise," the posters and shirts for "Damien" displayed "From Flames, Damien Will Rise" and "The Beast Rises." Street teams handed out stickers across the street from the San Diego Convention Center, as well as pins with "666" and pamphlets directing convention-goers to visit www.ItsAllforYou.com, a site that warns visitors, "He is the only way to deal with the coming end."
The bizzare calls were very similar to the several religious-themed materials handed out at the Convention every year.
Pamphlets that read "The end of days is near!" and speak of the "great atrocities" were also handed out. "Atrocities fill our airwaves. Atrocities crowd out the Internet. Atrocities stain our history."
No mention of the television series is seen until the final page, which teases the horror series' 2016 premiere with producers from "The Walking Dead" and "The Shield."
It is not clear if the campaign was effective, as a lot of convention attendees are used to blocking out the noise and threatening calls from other authentic religious groups. Nonetheless, the promotional team recognizes that given the number of TV shows that head to San Diego to steal the spotlight, the more bizarre the campaign, the better.
"Damien", from "The Walking Dead" producer Glen Mazzara, follows the adult life of Damien Thorn played by Bradley James, the mysterious child from the 1976 film "The Omen." In the series, people will see Damien as a grown-up who is apparently naive of the satanic forces around him. Despite the facts that he is still haunted by his past, Damien must come to terms with his true destiny once and for all -- that he is the Antichrist.
