LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - "Jesus VR - The Story of Christ" is a movie-length experience that will allow people with VR headsets to experience the life of Jesus in full virtual reality.

Virtual reality (VR) is a new medium for film created with a special camera that films in all directions at once. A viewer can look in any direction at any time, 360 degrees around 180 degrees up and down. Instead of an editor cutting video and telling viewers what to look at, the viewer can decide for themselves.

The experience requires a virtual reality headset. Prices of the headsets range from as little as $100, and use your smartphone as a screen while others cost over $600 and are entirely self-contained with headphones.

The film has been made by Motive Entertainment which seeks to connect people with one another and the message of Christ.

Filmmakers have not made much use of VR technology, perhaps unsure of what to make of the new medium. There is concern that viewers could become distracted while viewing and miss key moments in a VR film.

However, VR has caught on with millennials who can afford the headsets. The film may be one of the first in a new generation of movies designed to revolutionize filmmaking and the way viewers interact with the content.
