Releases film 'Return to the Hiding Place'

Film writer and director Peter Spencer has announced his attempt to raise awareness about the critical situation of Christians being persecuted in the Middle East through his film Return to the Hiding Place. It is about a group of people who fight to save the lives of others during the Holocaust.

We ask you, humbly: don't scroll away.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online)  -Return to the Hiding Place is a sequel to Billy Graham's The Hiding Place. Spencer's "Orange Resistance" movement is a call for help to save Christians who are being killed by the Islamic State. For Spencer, this disturbing situation that the Christians in the Middle East are going through, mirror the horrors experienced by people who suffered through the Holocaust.

Spencer said, "The ethnic and religious purging of Christians today is exactly like Hitler's ethnic cleansing of Jews in WWII. True Christians are today obligated to rescue the perishing from the blades of the [Islamic State]."
The name "Orange Resistance Movement" was based on the color of the jumpsuits worn by the victims of Islamic State extremists and the Netherlands' historic association with the color orange. The setting of Return to the Hiding Place was inspired by Dutch Christian's Corrie ten Boom's heroic attempts to save Jews in the Netherlands.
The film is based on a true story that narrates ten Boom's efforts to save the Jews alongside an "army of untrained teenagers" who helped rescue people.
Spencer said that their movement was "working with different denominations across the country to schedule screening of [the] film followed by a panel discussing the terrifying parallels between Nazi Germany's extermination of the Jews and the current hate-onslaught of [the Islamic State] and their mission to liquidate Christians, starting in the Middle East."
The filmmaker also noted that through this film, it will make a difference to a lot of people as they become aware of what's really happening around them rather than intimidating them like the news does. He hopes audiences will know there is still hope in spite of the tragedies happening overseas.

"The only hope for coping is by taking action. The only way we can cope is if solutions are at hand. These solutions will not present themselves -we have to stand and fight, get behind the cause, and put our resources into saving lives today."
