MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - From fifth to the first place of favorite Pixar films, here are Crosswalk.com's Editorial Staff and Film Critics best picks from Pixar's 20 years.
Fifth: WALL-E (2008)
About the last robot left on Earth after the destruction, WALL-E embodies various emotions and sentiments about living, feeling and our distant fate. The lone robot is left to clean up the mess, keeping some things we consider rubbish, but are treasures to him. Having a robot with humanly emotions and gestures may have earned WALL-E a place in the fans' hearts.
Fourth: Up (2009)
According to Shawn and Steve of CrosswalkMovies.com, this movie probably has the best intro ever. Carl Fredricksen wanted to go to Paradise Falls, a lost place in South America, fulfilling a promise to his beloved Ellie 70 years ago. He made it, using his house floating with many balloons and unintentionally bringing along young Russell.
Third: The Incredibles (2004)
A movie about a family of superheroes having double lives as ordinary people dealing with things we also struggle with every day. With many movies about superheroes, The Incredibles stood out for showing the not-so-super side of the story along with saving the world.
Second: Toy Story (1995)
Talk about one of the films that grew with the audience, it's not hard to spot Toy Story. Although the critics debated which of the three was actually the best, they came to an agreement that the first one definitely has more of an emotional attachment. Creative and touching, Toy Story hits the heart.
First: Finding Nemo (2003)
They described this movie as one of the best father-son films, that they crave and rave for. Full of adventure and wonderful stories on life in the ocean, Marlin and Dory, his companion, travele far and on to find Nemo, rescuing him and getting their lives back.
Although these are Crosswalk.com's top picks, they disclaimed that all the 14 movies are well-received and at some point have their best emotional moments, making the ranking hard to choose.
