Obama has proposed 442 tax hikes since taking office and you won't believe what he could tax next!

President Obama has attempted 442 tax increases during his six years as president so far, and more are likely to come as the administration looks for ways to pay for their proposals. According to Americans for Tax Reform, the numbers suggest why it's important to have a president who likes taxing to be opposed by a partisan Congress.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The Americans for Tax Reform has published, on Tax Day, no less, a year-by-year summary of President Obama's attempted tax hikes on the American people. Many of the tax hikes have been stopped by Congress, however some have been implemented.
According to ATR, Obama has attempted 442 tax hikes plus another 10 embedded in Obamacare.
Included in his tax hikes, proposals, and spoken intentions, Obama has hiked taxes on tobacco products, considered a tax on soda pop and other sugary beverages, and "other broad-based tax increases." Included is consideration of a European style "value added tax."
The ATR provided the annual breakdown:
-79 tax increases for FY 2010
-52 tax increases for FY 2011
-47 tax increases for FY 2012
-34 tax increases for FY 2013
-137 tax increases for FY 2014
-93 tax increases for FY 2015
Our attention is drawn to FY 2014, when Obama became a lame duck president, that's when an executive's true colors tend to show.
The problem with tax increases isn't the taxes themselves, actually. Although many Americans are appalled at the amount taken from them each year, and are naturally resistant to paying even more, the real tragedy is that the United States government rakes in the world's largest haul of taxes, yet never seems to be able to cover its own expenses.
The government spends money wildly, an average of at least $10 billion per day or more. Much of that money is spend on wars, wasteful programs, and perks and privileges for the nation's ruling aristocracy. Both corporate welfare and social welfare consume massive amounts of money with corporate welfare - that is corporate subsidies paid to "create jobs" and "stimulate the economy" while propping up already profitable, or otherwise failing businesses, outpaces social welfare by two-to-one.
American politicians are simply playing for the next election, and to win they need generous campaign contributions from those who can pay. Specifically, those are wealthy individuals and big businesses. Meanwhile, Obama and others like him have no problem taking from the average person using finger-wagging taxes such as sin taxes, to pay those subsidies out to corporations and people that simply don't work.
This is why the middle class is shrinking.
Obama is no friend of the middle class, whose only remaining usefulness is taxation. Unfortunately, what goes for Obama likely goes for many other members of our government, both right and left.
As Obama and others look for new sources of revenue, a novel solution may be at hand. The idea of taxing churches has entered the public discourse on where the administration can go next for some quick cash.
