CATHOLIC VBS - Laura Stanger, right, Children and Family Life Coordinator at St. John Vianney Parish in Kirkland, and volunteer Chris Lystad wanted to replicate the fun-filled learning experience children enjoyed during the parish’s one-week summer vacation Bible school. The result was the Catholic Kids Catechism Club, a kindergarten-through-fifth-grade faith formation experience that keeps participants active while exploring their faith, the Scriptures and moral principles for one hour each Sunday. Above, students “lift up” their prayer partner, whose “temptation” is attached to a balloon. Students were asked to lift up their partner in prayer throughout the Lenten season. (Peggy King Anderson)
