With companion Dioscorus, martyrs put to death during the persecutions under Emperor Valerian (r. 253-260). Themistocles was a shepherd in Lycia (modern Turkey). He died by beheading after refusing to divulge the hiding place of Dioscorus who was himself later martyred.

I think there is a spelling error on the page for "St. Themistoeles" as the name is rendered "Themistocles" in the text.

Might be worth checking out. ;)

Saint Themistoeles was put on the rack, dragged over rough materials and then scourged. You can get icons of him on different websites. Prayer: Grant, we beseech thee, almighty God: that we, who venerate St. Themistocles, thy martyr may through his intercession be strengthened in the love of thy name. Amen
