my simple connection is that, in the summer of 1962, upon graduating from high school, and looking for a job, my aunt gave me a St. Jude Prayer Card, patron saint of hopeless and desperates cases. I started saying that prayer every night, and have continued that through today......missing probably three dozen days, when illness forestalled effort. St. Jude, OF COURSE, enshrined at national shrine in Chicago, at church and ministry conducted by THE CLARETIAN FATHERS, So, a few years ago, I placed St. Anthony Claret on my personal litany of saints, Personal Combat Life Support Team, Vespers. NOW, finally, researching his life, and finding wonderful biography on catholic.org. Makes me all the more proud and pleased to now get to better know him. THANK YOU!

St. Anthony Mary Claret of Spain and Cuba, I read about your life of commitment with much interest, as I've never come into contact with Claretan priest or nuns. Thanks to all the testimony of fellow readers and writers who have shared insights, comments and admiration of this saint. St. Anthony Mary Claret, pray to Mother Mary for all Catholics in Cuba and Spain. But do not forget us in Asia, as we need your holy and powerful intercession on your feast day. I implore you to give us the grace of deliberate action for the good of the poor, sick, suffering. Come to our aid when we face opposition in family, work and community in our feeble efforts to good God's bidding. Help and come to the aid of all children suffering from fragile X. Poor little things, why should they go through so much torment of mind and body when they have epileptic fits? Or face so many challenges in learning living skills, speaking, and studying. Please, please help give them reprieve and relief and more importantly, a permanent cure. Amen.

He was a good catechist and converted many souls with his simplicity and good virtues life. He was concerned about the growth of the church and the Spanish society. he was not interested in politics and business, entertainment, medicine and sports but he was interested in press, Schools, agriculture, textiles, preaching, education, writing, teaching, travelling, spiritual exercises, retreats and counseling, catechism, formation of seminarians and priestly ministry, social works etc. he was against the slavery system. He raised his voice against this social evil. I like and love him because he was man who wished everybody to live with human dignity, respect and freedom. He was a true follower of Christ and her mother Mary. He lived a very simple and ordinary life. He was man whose heart is without jealousy and malice, greedy for power and passion for pleasure and lust. So, he was spiritually deep, emotionally balanced, intellectually sharp, Socially relational, pastorally a great preacher

May I humbly ask St. Mary Anthony Claret to interecede on behalf of my mother for a miracle healing of mind and body - that she may be able to stand, transfer and walk short distances; that she may be enabled to return to own home with good caregivers. Thank you.

Indeed St. Claret is a very special saint. His intercession is beneficial for the cancer patients. Indeed miraculous Cure does happen. I am fortunate to be a Claretian priest, ie., Son of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, a Congregation started by St. Antony Mary Claret. The congregation today is present in 65 different countries. St. Claret intercede for us. May his intercession have a visible effect on Cuba where he served as the archbishop.

I posted a message this am in which I said that we pray to St. Anthony Mary Claret for the end of 52 years of dictatorship and the end of communism in Cuba. Apparently who ever had to "approve it" did not. Behavior such as this is why the Catholic Church is keps loosing credibility and followers around the world. Shame on you for not taking a stand. Lack of guts or fear of the communist? You did the same thing in the 2008 elections here in the US when you failed to tell Catholics not to support Mr. Obama, the most liberal and PRO ABORTION President ever elected. Once again, shame on you.....
