Abbot and friend of St. Avitus He was born in Auvergne, France, and raised at Menat Monastery near Riom. Both he and St. Avitus were ordained at Micy Abbey, and Carilefus became a hermit at Maine. He attracted so many disciples that he founded a monastery at Anisole, in Maine, and became abbot. He is venerated in Blois.
