Arab hermit and bishop who is called �the Apostle of the Saracens.� He lived in the desert regions of Syria and Egypt, caring for the local nomadic tribes. When the Romans imposed peace upon the Saracens, Queen Mavia, the Saracen ruler, demanded that Moses be consecrated a bishop. He accepted against his will and maintained the peace between the Saracens and Rome. The Saracens were a nomadic people of the Syro-Egyptian desert so designated by the Romans.

St. Moses, apostle, hermit and bishop who gave pastoral care to the saracens, pray for all who live in predominantly Muslim countries. May our brotherly love for our Muslim brothers and sisters be a beacon of light whereby they will learn to trust and believe in our good intentnions. Help me to get invovled in works of charity and mercy where I can make a quiet contribution. Bless my work in my family, work and church communities, always reminding myself to be genuinely humble and sincere. Bless all those on bed of pain, rest or are wasting away. Keep us always mindful of their needs. Amen.
