She was wise and educated Princess of Kyiv -RUSS not Russia. at that time thse tribe of UHRO-FINISH (mongol)origin. Their capital was Moskva hence they were MOscovites> The word RUSSIA came only with the unification of the tribes of Novgorod and Suszdal andother city states by IVAN the IV(The Terrible. OLHA travelled to Constantynopol Byzantium, where the Emperor of Constantinople ofthe Bysantian Empire asked for her hand in marriage. She first wanted to be baptized. She took the Emperor as her God-father.When the Emperor asked again ,she repied to him "it is not fitting that I should marry my own Godfather. For the rest of her Mature life she was a very pious woman. She Build several churches ( there weve some christian chapels as early as the 5th century AD in Kiyvan Russ)and many schools .
