Premonstratensian bishop of Ratzeburg, Schleswig-Holstein. He was brought into the Premonstratensians by St. Norbert in Cambrai, France, in 1120. He accompanied the saint toAntwerp, Belgium, and in 1134 succeeded Norbert as abbot of Gottesgnaden Monastery, then as abbot of Magdeburg, Germany. In 1154 he became bishop. Evermod is called “the Apostle to the Wends," the people of SchleswigHolstein.
