St. Gerard Majella

St. Gerard Majella, religious, is the patron of expectant mothers. He was born at Muro, Italy, in 1726 and joined the Redemptorists at the age of 23, becoming a professed lay brother in 1752. He served as sacristan, gardener, porter, infirmarian, and tailor. However, because of his great piety, extraordinary wisdom, and his gift of reading consciences, he was permitted to counsel communities of religious women.
This humble servant of God also had the faculties of levitation and bi-location associated with certain mystics. His charity, obedience, and selfless service as well as his ceaseless mortification for Christ, made him the perfect model of lay brothers. He was afflicted with tuberculosis and died in 1755 at the age of twenty-nine.
This great saint is invoked as a patron of expectant mothers as a result of a miracle effected through his prayers for a woman in labor.
Prayer: O Great Saint Gerard, beloved servant of Jesus Christ, perfect imitator of your meek and humble Savior, and devoted Child of the Mother of God: enkindle within my heart one spark of that heavenly fire of charity which glowed in your heart and made you an angel of love. O glorious Saint Gerard, because when falsely accused of crime, you did bear, like your Divine master, without murmur or complaint, the calumnies of wicked men, you have been raised up by God as the Patron and Protector of expectant mothers. Preserve me from danger and from the excessive pains accompanying childbirth, and shield the child which I now carry, that it may see the light of day and receive the lustral waters of baptism through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Those who have prayed to St. Gerard during the feast have experience miracles, including myself. When I received the blessing for mothers trying to conceive, I was pregnant 2 weeks later.
I have been praying St Gerard for over 20 years for my son who has been a sick child. He is now well, doing very well, he sailed through school with good results. He is working & has bought his flat. all you are desperate, have faith in St Gerard, he will walk by your side.

When my wife was expecting our fifth child, she was in death risk, we trust in intercession of St.Gerard Majella. This was 4 years ago, today we celebrate the 4th birthday of our daughter. My wife is ok and our the girl was born in the feast od this saint. A miracle.

We recently found out my daughter was pregnant and were over joyed to be having our first grandchild, however, testing has shown a potential problem with the pregnancy which may cause a miscarriage. I pray to God and to St. Gerard for his intercession to have my daughter have a safe pregnancy and a healthy baby.

We were having problems in our marriage, I never stopped praying for a child and it was a miracle we were blessed. On learning that I was pregnant my husband and mother in law were totally against it and indirectly asked for an abortion. I always prayed that nothing would ever happen, though I had a few complications I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. She is now 2 years and her father loves her so much and I am thankful. The birth of our baby saved our marriage from divorce and separation. Today we are together but we are not physically involved. I want another child or two and I pray to you St. Gerard to hear our prayers and grant us another child which will bring us together and make our family grow stronger. Jesus touch our lives and help us to forgive each other as You forgave us. Protect our marriage from all harm. Saint Gerard it is impossible at this stage for me to get pregnant but I beg You to pray for us and intercede for us for the birth of another child. I am currently 23 weeks pregnant with twins in the hospital on bedrest til delivery...which hopefully will be a loooong time. St. Gerard My future sister-in-law has been trying to have a child, they recently became pregnant, but promptly lost it. Please help them concieve again, and carry a healthy, happy child to full term. Please help them have a safe pregnancy for mother and child, and don't let them suffer more loss. St Gerard, I pray so hard that you bless my family Matt and Bridget with another child. They have just lost their angel at only 1 and a half and have started fertility treatment to conceive again. Another child will never replace the one that they lost but it will help ease the pain and give them direction again.
