St. Aldegunais
Patron of Cancer, Wounds
639 - 684
Virgin and abess, also known as Adelgundis, Aldegonde, or Orgonne. She was a member of the royal family of the Merovingians and was raised by two saints: St. Walbert and St. Bertila, her parents. The family resided in the Hainault region of Flanders, a region of the Low Countries. Aldegundis reflused offers of marriage from other nobles and received the veil from St. Amandius, the bishop of Maastricht. She followed this ceremony of acceptance into the religious life with the foundation of a convent near the Sambre River, at a desert site called Malbode. Her sister, St. Waldetrudis, had founded a convent at Mons. Aldegundis' foundation became Mauberge, a noted Benedictine monastery, later taken over by canonesses. Aldegundis is reported to have died of cancer at the age of fifty-four.

Dearest Saint Aldegunais Please pray for my husband. he is involved in building a temple for a group of people who does not believe in JESUS and that He is the Son of God, God the Son who rose from the dead. Please pray that as a Catholic...he will become fervent in his faith and rather lead others with whom he is working, to come to know, love and serve Jesus instead. Thank you and pray for continued blessings upon my family.
Dear Saint,
Please pray for me to become a staunch believer in Christ. Help me to overcome the temptations of the evil one and prepare myself for a perfect sacrifice for our Beloved God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

I am Just an beliver in Chriat an have been been for half a centuary, I think that the reson that there wer so many Saints in one family is just that they belived in Christ being the only beggon Son of God, and with that belive that their souls will be saved, don't you think? maybe that is why Satan is so commited in Destorying the Family and remaking the Family the way is wants.. Any way to hurt God, but in the End God will win.
Dear St. Aldegundis,
Pray for me to be firm and committed in serving God!
I really look forward to this site. But I must wonder...how is it that so many saints come from families with another saint, or, even, an entire family of saints? Am I a saint because I associate with a saint, an honest-to-God true saint? I don't enjoy being sarcastic with your editors, but, I read oftentimes short bios of saints that sound truthful, and they have even questioned the validity of why certains saints ARE saints. Please comment on this. How can this be? Respectfully, Michael
Texas
how is it possible that there were four saints in one family? something is missing from this story. i guess i can look it up on wikipedia.
Wow it's amazing that her parents and her sister are saints. Reading this article I like her. Also her feast day is my birthday!! Awesome.
I like this saint very much.
it does not say why she became a saint and the info is too short
